Technical Editor


Job Description:
The ideal candidate for the opening of Technical Editor at RTM is a highly motivated and driven individual with excellent writing and communication skills, an in-depth knowledge and expertise of Automotive DIY and the automotive aftermarket, and the ability to interact with advertisers, clients and enthusiasts, from all walks of life. Essential job duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  1. Assist editorial team with planning the content and editorial direction of the PowerNation shows.
  2. Assist editorial team with developing editorial calendar for the shows.
  3. Watch, evaluate and edit shows or other materials for all content channels and confer with hosts, and source of edit regarding changes in content, style or organization.
  4. Watch and proofread editorial to detect and correct errors in spelling, punctuation, and syntax.
  5. Verify facts, dates, and statistics, using standard reference sources for editorial content.
  6. Writing a large volume of content for use on the television and digital properties.
  7. Photographing and gathering video for car features, how-to and technical articles, and other automotive related articles.
  8. Traveling to events as needed, including but not limited to: track tests, product and vehicle launches, race and show events, and editorial shoots
  9. Collaborate with Account Executives and the General Sales Manager to build relationships with advertisers for the purpose of building new and support existing editorial content ideas.
  10. Develop story or content ideas, considering viewer or audience appeal for television and digital properties.
  11. Obtain copyright permissions when applicable.
  12. Assist editorial team with selected PowerNation project cars and programs.
  13. Build an organized digital library of generic tech photos and videos for use in future stories.


Education & Experience:
  1. College degree or above in journalism or communications is preferred.
  2. Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in content creation for online and print publications.
  3. Experience covering the consumer automotive industry.
  4. Experience as a writer or editor for a magazine, newspaper, online publication.
  5. Video/TV experience is preferred.


Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  1. Must possess an in-depth technical knowledge of early through later model O.E.M./aftermarket, including engine/drivetrain, chassis/suspension, and electronics and common performance modifications.
  2. Must possess excellent writing and communication skills with the ability to produce a high volume of in-depth technical and featured editorial content that is compelling to automotive enthusiasts.
  3. Must understand the history and have an in-depth knowledge with regards to the development of the car as a performance vehicle.
  4. Must have an in-depth knowledge of the automotive aftermarket industry, including common modifications, racing, and the ability to spot/follow trends as they develop.
  5. Must be organized, punctual, and have the ability to handle multiple tasks.
  6. Ability to take high-quality photography and video for use in tech articles and car features is a plus.
  7. Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint)

Account Executive


Job Description:
RTM Productions, in Nashville TN, is seeking a fulll-time Account Executive. Successful candidate will be responsible for selling and servicing television and digital advertising packages to automotive aftermarket companies. Must be self motivated, supply activity reports and forecasts as required. Responsible for meeting and exceeding weekly, monthly and quarterly sales activity with focus on consultive selling and digital product inclusion. Essential that candidate have experience with television and digital advertising. Strong preference for someone with a background in the automotive industry. Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills required and ability to work independently and in a team environment. Auto Technician With Custom Fabrication/Paint & Body Expertise


On-camera Technician: RTM Productions has an immediate opening for an experienced auto technician to fill the position of On-camera Technician in an RTM automotive TV series.


Requirements:
Position requires a solid automotive repair background with specific hands-on experience in collision/refinishing and custom fabrication. Applicants must have strong communication skills, be highly organized and ready to work as part of a fast-paced creative team. Professionally trained tech school graduates with ASE certifications are preferred.

Location:
This full time position requires relocation to the Nashville area.
